Strategy
Tidewardens
★★★★☆ 4.4
Tidewardens is a slow-burn strategy game where you manage a cluster of floating villages and brace them for seasonal storms. Each turn you balance building, farming, and shoring up defenses, and the storms hit hard enough that a lazy plan falls apart fast.
What sells it is the readable map and a tempo that lets you think. You can pause and plan a full route before committing. The tutorial is a touch dry, but once it clicks the loop is genuinely satisfying.
We lost a couple of towns learning the ropes, and that stung in a good way. It's the rare mobile strategy game that trusts you to figure things out.
What we liked
- Satisfying risk-and-recovery loop
- Clear map you can plan at your own pace
- Storms create real tension
